Great to learn abt GNUPG

I came to know abt GNUPG at one of the TSM's organised by Twincling Society is a complete and free replacement for PGP. Because it does not use the patented IDEA algorithm, it can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440 (OpenPGP) compliant application.

Version 1.0.0 has been released on September 7th, 1999. The current stable version is 1.4.1 .

GnuPG is Free Software . It can be freely used, modified and distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License .

PGP, on which OpenPGP is based, was originally developed by Philip Zimmermann in the early 1990s.
