I have worked with couple of vendors in the software industry and i see there is common working style in most of the them and i feel as a customer we need to make sure and have better understanding on what they are doing and is that the right way to go.

Most common things i observe in most of the vendors :
1. Try to bluff the customer.
2. They don't have facts in hand before they talk on anything.
3. They think customer is a layman.
4. They just promise or say whatever comes out of their mouth at that moment.
5. They try to hide the facts most of the time.
6. They try to still keep up their words on the facts even after they realize after sometime that they were wrong on what they are talking.
7. Irate and good customer with their minimal knowledge.

Things to do to make customer happy :
1. Accept your mistakes and provide them options on how to fix them.
2. Listen to the customer before you come up with conclusions.
3. Bluffing the customer does not work all the time.
4. Work according to the expectations of the customer then you would have strong long term relation ship.
5. Companies need to shuffle their employees according need and response of the customer in the beginning.
6. Don't wait till the customer totally gets frustrated and the project gets scrapped.
7. Try to be always in customer shoes before you try to do anything.

Successful Implementation

In general if we are implementing any prodcut, we need follow the following basic steps in the process :

1. Identify the Stakeholders for the software you are implementing.
2. Make sure that you have participation from the stake holders and it would help you in better analysis.
3. Perform the needs assessment.
4. Review the assessments and try to check all the feasibilities involved in developing the assessments.
5. Modifications on the assessments, validations and tracking the modified requirements.
6. Implementation of the requirements.
7. User testing at all levels especially all the stake holders of the system.
8. Change control process to manage changes.
9. Provide simple tutorials to help users learn to use the software.
10. Promotion, marketing, etc. of the new product as this is critical for getting user acceptance.

WinFX Runtime Components (RC) - WinFX redistributables (runtime binaries) for executing WinFX applications
Windows SDK - Includes the header files, libraries and help documentation for developing the next generation of Windows applications. Note that this release (and all future releases of the Windows SDK includes the WinFX SDK).
Visual Studio Code Name "Orcas" CTP WinFX Development Tools - provides developers with support for building WinFX applications using the final released version of Visual Studio 2005. This support includes XAML Intellisense support through schema extensions for the editor, project templates for the Windows Presentation Foundation and the Windows Communication Foundation, and WinFX SDK documentation integration.

Microsoft has released the Windows Vista Product line-up this evening . For the past few weeks, the SKU's for Windows Vista have been much speculated about.

- Includes Windows BitLocker, Virtual PC Express, and Sub-system for Unix Applications.
- Only Available under the Software Assurance Program or Enterprise Agreement.

- Windows Media Center capability.
- DVD burning and creation.
- Tablet PC capability
Windows Vista Ultimate
- Pretty much comes with everything.

So going by what Microsoft released tonight, Windows Media Center won't be available in every SKU, rather only the Home Premium and Ultimate Versions. No mention of Media Center for Buiness and Enterprise were made. Also, it looks as though Aero won't be included in Home Basic and of course Starter. I wonder what the different between Home Basic and Starter is?

It also seems BitLocker is going to be available only to the Enterprise edition - but will it be included in the Ultimate edition? I attended a web conference last Novemember and Microsoft representatives said that the Enterprise edition will offer features for the Enterprise not available in any other SKU. I wonder if BitLocker is one of them?

There is no mention of any "N" Versions for Windows Vista at this time.

All versions will be availalbe in 32bit or 64bit.

Community Launch @ Hyderbad Rocked !!!

MUGH Core members who organised the community Launch at Hyderabad on Feb 4th really made it happen. More than 450 developers attended this event.This some thing which almost all the audience like it. Community launch started at 9:45 with some introduction presentations about MUGH and then we had announced the prizes for Techfest and SQL wiz winners. Then Arun session was started and then we had Anjana's session. Both Arun's and Anjana's session were well received by the Audience and it was more like interactive sessions. Most of the time speakers have to spend time in answering the questions raised by the audiences, which ultimately tells how mature the audience are.

All the session went were well with developers taking part interactively in all the sessions. Most of developers telling that they liked Pratap session very well.

About Enterprise Library 2.0

The patterns & practices Enterprise Library is a library of application blocks designed to assist developers with common enterprise development challenges. Application blocks are a type of guidance, provided as source code that can be used "as is," extended, or modified by developers to use on enterprise development projects. This release of Enterprise Library includes six application blocks (Caching, Cryptography, Data Access, Exception Handling, Logging and Security), and provides similar functionality to the previous releases for the .NET Framework 1.1; however, Enterprise Library has been redesigned to use the new capabilities of the .NET Framework 2.0.

Highlights of this release include:

Support for .NET Framework 2.0 Best Practices. This release makes use of many exciting new features of .NET Framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005, including generics and Visual Studio Team System unit tests. In addition, the new platform capabilities have enabled us to deprecate certain Enterprise Library features including the Configuration Application Block and much of the Security Application Block. Migration guidance is included in the Enterprise Library documentation.

Roadmap of Enterprise Library from Microsoft :-

The team will also evaluate the opportunity to update Enterprise Library as new platform technologies such as WinFX and Language Integrated Query (LINQ) are released. In the meantime, the team is focusing on new deliverables that will assist developers in using multiple application blocks together to form solid end-to-end applications. Due to the Security restrictions that are kept by police because of Congress party Plenary session happening at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachbowli. Which is very near in to proximity of the venue of Launch and all the particpants will feel difficult to pass these roads to reach the venue, Community Launch had been post phoned to 4th February 2006.

This is s gift from MUGH to Congress Party because if we have launch on the same day very near to the venue of APCC then all the congress leaders will be willing to learn the Technology rather than taking part in their leaders sessions. So we changed the date as a gift to Andhra Pradesh Congress party.

He had clearly explained the New generation certifications coming from Microsoft and he had answered all the quereis very patiently raised by the audience on upgradation paths. This was good session as i had feeling earlier that Microsoft Certifcations are not that much of great value as i heard from many of my friends that you go through the exam even if you sit for 3 days and read all the multiple choice questions available in the training kits. Due to Vishal's session i had changed my mind on this and plan to take MS certification. That's really cool session by Vishal.

Windows Vista for Professionals

The next version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows Vista, enables a new level of confidence in the PCs so you can lower IT costs and help your users get more out of their PCs. Windows Vista introduces clear ways to organize and use information to help people focus on what's most important. It seamlessly connects your users and applications to the information, people, and devices they need to maximize results.

New Security Features

With Windows XP and earlier operating systems, IT departments had to choose between application compatibility and the convenience of having users log on as an administrator and the security and stability provided by having users log on as a standard user. User Account Protection in Windows Vista gives administrators the option of restricting permissions while still enabling most applications to run.

By default, Windows Vista runs most applications with limited permissions, even if the user logs on to his or her computer with administrative privileges. This won't stop users from performing administrative tasks that you've granted them permissions to perform. When users attempt to perform administrative tasks, Windows Vista explicitly asks them to confirm their intentions or provide administrative credentials, depending on the policy setting that you've chosen. This feature can be controlled with Group Policy settings.

If users log on as standard users, who are not members of the Administrators local group, they can still run most Windows Vista applications without additional rights. Most applications will run equally well under either the administrator account or a standard user account.

To help provide this combination of security and compatibility, Windows Vista automatically virtualizes computer-wide registry settings and folders. Changes made to the virtualized registry settings and folders are visible to only that user and the applications the user runs, so the integrity of the computer is protected. If an application does require administrator credentials, Windows Vista automatically prompts the user for the credentials before allowing the application to run.

User Account Protection is only one of many security improvements in Windows Vista. Some other major improvements include:

Improved firewall. Windows Vista's firewall includes both inbound and outbound filtering, giving you greater control over networked applications.
Windows Service Hardening. This new platform service restricts what services can do on the system in order to prevent them from spreading malware.
Internet Explorer Enhancements. Microsoft Internet Explorer protects users from dangerous Web sites and runs with limited privileges even if the user is logged on as a member of the local Administrators group.

Deployment

Windows Vista reduces the complexity, time, and cost of desktop deployment. The following are the two most significant improvements:

Modularization. Windows Vista is built with inter-dependent modules, which makes it easier to customize Windows Vista (to a certain degree) to your needs. Modularization also simplifies adding device drivers, testing and installing updates, and adding languages.
Windows Imaging Format (WIM). WIM, a file-based imaging format, enables a single image to be deployed to different types of computer hardware with different language requirements. Maintaining WIM images is easy, because you can add and remove drivers, updates, and Windows components offline, without ever booting the operating system image.

While modularization and WIM alone would dramatically simplify deployment, together they will revolutionize the way client operating systems are installed. Most notably, the combination of the two technologies significantly reduces the number of operating system images you'll need to maintain. In other words, if your IT department currently maintains images for each language and computer type, you can probably use much fewer number of Windows Vista images, which will free your staff for other priorities.

Visualize, Search, and Organize Information

Windows Vista has amazing information management capabilities that enable users to find documents, e-mail messages, and other information in seconds and then to work with that data in ways that are most intuitive to them. In fact, Windows Vista's new tools are so flexible and so easy to use that users will rarely need to search for information on their computers.

First, the new Document Explorer, replacing the My Documents folder in Windows XP, is much more powerful. Instead of simply showing icons for documents, the Document Explorer shows high-resolution thumbnails that preview the document's content. Users can dynamically adjust the size of these thumbnails up to 256x256 pixels, which is large enough for users to know whether they've found the right document without opening it. To get more information about a document, users can select it to see more information in the Preview pane.

Windows Vista also introduces a new type of folder called a virtual folder. Virtual folders behave like regular folders; however, the contents of a virtual folder are defined dynamically. The contents of a virtual folder can be based on combinations of document authors, ratings, keywords (which users can define), and other criteria. For example, users could create a virtual folder that contained documents written by "Jeff Price," regardless of where the document is stored on their local computers. When they opened the virtual folder, the Windows Vista Document Explorer would automatically find every document on the local computer written by Jeff Price and display those documents as the folder's contents. As they can with any other folder, users could re-organize and filter the virtual folder's contents to quickly find the document they are looking for.

Easy Sharing

It is easier for users to share files with one another, whether users work in a workgroup or a domain. Windows Vista enables two or more users to connect directly with one another to share files, applications, nearby projectors, or an Internet connection. It also lets users chat. You do not even need a wireless Access Point (AP) because Windows Vista makes it easy to set up ad hoc meeting networks.

Improved Performance

Windows Vista lets busy people be more productive. Windows Vista can recover from Sleep in few seconds, a capability known as Fast Startup. Applications and files load much faster than they did with Windows XP, and Windows Vista will significantly improve overall system responsiveness. Users will particularly notice improvements over Windows XP when opening the Start menu or right-clicking items in Windows Explorer. Windows Vista also features built-in performance self-tuning. The system will recognize and correct issues that cause performance degradation, including slow shell responsiveness and slow boot or logon.

Reliability

Windows Vista is more reliable than Windows XP, reducing the frequency and impact of user disruptions. Windows Vista includes fixes for known hangs and crashes, and new technology that will prevent many common causes of hangs and crashes. Windows Vista can automatically restart many system services in case of a service crash, enabling the user to continue working without interruption. Windows Vista can also recognize when applications are in danger of exhausting system resources (such as virtual memory) and warn the user to shut down applications before the system hangs and data is lost.

New diagnostic tools provide auto-diagnosis and auto-correction of common error conditions, and help to protect user data when failures occur. For example, built-in diagnostics in Windows Vista will warn users of impending hard drive failures and advise them to take corrective action before data is lost. In the worst case, when the machine will not boot, the Startup Repair tool (SrT) provides step-by-step diagnostics to guide the user through recovery and minimize data loss.

Windows Vista also includes enhanced instrumentation that enable continual improvements to reliability. For example, new application deadlock detection technology determines if a hang is due to a deadlock condition and includes this information as part of the Windows Error Report.

User Interface

Windows Vista's userinterface, code-named AERO is easier to navigate, thereby making users more productive than with Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows. Users with computers specifically designed for Windows Vista will be particularly pleased because Windows Vista takes advantage of the power of modern computers to create a professional and rich graphical user interface. Even applications created before Windows Vista will be more attractive and functional because Windows Vista has improved wizards and common dialog boxes that are shared by all applications.

Users with high-resolution monitors (for example, a monitor with a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels) will be more productive because Windows Vista can smoothly scale icons and the overall user experience to higher dots-per-inch (DPI) displays. As a result, users of applications designed for high DPI display, such as photo editing or engineering applications, will not struggle to read small on-screen text when simultaneously using an application that is not designed for a high-DPI display.

Microsoft Next Generation Developement Platform

I had read about Orcas in differant sites and differant blogs. Orca mean 'One really cool app'.

A later Visual Studio.Net release, code-named Orcas, will be tuned specifically for Longhorn, the next major release of Microsoft's desktop version of Windows, which is expected in mid 2006.

Orcas is all about enabling platform adoption for Windows Vista, for Office 12 and for WinFX. We can use Whidbey today to build Vista applications, for example. But Orcas will make it a whole lot easier for people to build Vista applications through easy to use designers

The Orcas release of Visual Studio.Net is being designed to take advantage of changes to Longhorn's user interface.

Orcas will also tap into the so-called managed services of Longhorn, or the security and management capabilities that Microsoft plans to include within Windows. Rather than needing to write code to ensure different levels of security or to manage application deployment, Orcas will let developers tap into Longhorn's built-in security and management features.

Orcas will also enhance Microsoft's strategy of using Web services to integrate its own disparate products and connect into non-Windows applications. Microsoft also plans to introduce versions of Visual Studio.Net that can create applications for both the desktop and the server editions of Longhorn.

Whenever you talk about search engine everyone talks about Google search. But microsoft is comming up which is still in Beta stage called MSDN Search. This is developed in corodination with MSN search.

The MSDN team at Microsoft has been working on improving search. Recently, the team launched a new MSDN Search Beta, integrating more relevant search from Microsoft and the community into one easy-to-use page. This beta rolls out to all very soon. You can send the your feedback.

This is at present limited to MSDN only. You will be able to search MSDN Forums with 10s of thousands of answered questions. You can also find resources from Codezone within Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 by using Help…Search and clicking on the 'Codezone' tab! They have improved relevance for MSDN Online search results via leveraging implicit user feedback. Over the next few months, relevance (especially for common queries) should improve significantly as the system is populated with more data. Other improvements include the ability to switch back and forth between Microsoft and community results with one click without leaving the search page, simpler UI which aligns well with Visual Studio 2005's search UI and online integration into Visual Studio 2005. You can find resources from MSDN Forums within Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 by using Help…Search and clicking on the 'Questions' tab!

Many more features are on the way, including an MSN-based back-end, product/technology filtering, and much more. I hope we will see MSDN search continuing to get better.

All the Core Team of MUGH went to roundtable conference with S.Somasegar corporate vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft Corporation, Hyderabad in EBC room at 5:30 pm on 01/12/2005.

Soma along with Parmeesh and 2 other PM's and Test Manager came for the meeting. The meeting was started with Sudhakar's question's and soma had patiently answered the questions raised by all the participants.All the participants had informed soma about the positive and negative areas on Microsoft front as of Visual Studio 2005 and VSTS and SQL. Purshotham from VSTS team had asked him to contact if we need any help in getting to the required team for help. Soma also confirmed that they will be sharing with us all the documents on the all next product releases coming up in Microsoft prodcut line.He also had confirmed that they would be taking our suggestions into considerations in the next releases.Both these things are very positve confirmation from Soma.

Rasied with Soma all the quereis that were posed by Developer Community as against VS 2005 and SQL 2005. Soma had answered all of them patiently.

The meeting lasted for 1 and half hour. This is my 2nd expreince with soma since last year. He accepts both the postive and negative feedbacks from each and everyone and agrees with them frankly.

I came to know abt GNUPG at one of the TSM's organised by Twincling Society is a complete and free replacement for PGP. Because it does not use the patented IDEA algorithm, it can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440 (OpenPGP) compliant application.

Version 1.0.0 has been released on September 7th, 1999. The current stable version is 1.4.1 .

GnuPG is Free Software . It can be freely used, modified and distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License .

PGP, on which OpenPGP is based, was originally developed by Philip Zimmermann in the early 1990s.

Devcon is grand success and all the efforts of the core team had shown up fruitful results and all the core is happy regarding the event becuase everyone in the core had put up their full strengths and hardwork since the day one when we had decided to make DEVCON 2005. That's great and good Team spirit.

The feed back is very good and we are very happy with that.

These are the updates from Venkat who had made us available with the feedback updates

It was really amazing to look into the feedback of attendees. Gaurav
has a special mention in at least 5 feedbacks saying he is excellent,
good. People wanted his sessions more. This is a very good sign i
think, when people start adding values to speakers also.

The Details about the event DevCon 2005 are as follows:

MUGH is going to conduct an event called DevCon 2005, on April 10th 2005, a Developer Conference in association with INETA and Microsoft in CHIP auditorium, Cyber Towers, Hi-tech City.

DevCon is nothing but a series of presentations on various latest technologies coming up at Microsoft product line and sharing the community spirit amongst them.

MUGH stands for Microsoft User Group Hyderabad.

It has around 3000+ members till date on .NET technologies and 300+ members in SQLCON Group (a dedicated SQL Community).

MUGH started life as DNUG (.NET Users' Group), Hyderabad. However, we felt that various Microsoft technologies function so well in concert with each other - and our earlier name did restrict our scope to just one of them.

MUGH is operated by a core group that consists of Microsoft MVPs and Community Stars - in addition, Microsoft often helps us in conducting our activities that include user group meetings.

Almost an year ago an idea was born it was and is still popularly known as DNUG (DotNET Users Group) Hyderabad which today has matured and stands in front of you baptized as MUGH (Microsoft Users Group; Hyderabad).

The things are going well for DEVCON and we got the final accpetance from the sponsors. I am planning to meet one of the sponsor in the evening and make final confirmation from them and take their sponsorhip details and their logos and make the work ready.

Some i hope if arun returns back all the things will go in more pace and we make DEVCON a grand success.

Today morning i met Pahni akka and Bavagaru who came from Vijaywada and then i went to my work and then in the afternoon Amrita from St.Anns had called me and she had asked me for a workshop in her college and she said she want it on 1st April and i said it is okay and i had confirmed it for April 1st 8:30 to 10:30 am and then i informed others also abt the Workshop and they all said it is okay for all of them and then i saw geetesh mail he said that the Logo that i had given to him of vasudeva wont be useful and he need a logo with high resolution and i contacted those guys and they said they will be sending me by EOD and then they had come up with a differant proposal and i had mailed the core abt their proposal and theni go the confrimation from other guys of the core also abt them and then i am planning to take the money from them and the sponsor part of DEVCON is okay.

Evening i went to Nani Mava's place and met ammama and then returened her the saree and then i took tamrind and then left to Kukatpally for peddamma's place and then we had discussion regarding the Africa Job things with chinni anna and we had nice biryani and then we had chat for some time and later peddamma informed a differant proposal, which i never expected and which needs approval from DAD and she asked my decsion and then i said it's upto my DAD to take such decsions and i dont have any thinking abt that. i left from peddamma's place at 10:30 and reached home.

Building VAL site

After the Core meet i went to saifi's place, then i had food and then we started building VAL site. and we had built upto certain extend and we made the basic template and we cld not set the format and settings properly. some saifi managed to get the Logo but we cld not get the same logo that is there on their site and then he made ceratin chnages to layout and somehow we had managed to make it okay. we need to make more changes to build it properly.

Microsoft User Group Core meet on 27th March

As today is sunday i have to go for MUGH Core meet so i woke up early and went to saifi's place as he had asked some of the books. i had given him the books and then went to MUGH Core meet at Cafe Coffee Day. By the time i had reached there MR.Anand From MSis there and other members present are Sudhakar from MS, Pratap from MS, Anjana from Satyam, Raghu from Brigade and Geetesh and Umesh.
We had discussed regarding the DEVCON which we are planning to organize on 10th of April. what are the works that each of us need to do and how much work had been completed. we had discussion on what we need to do with vasudeva sponsor as he is asking us a lot. and they are okay with us and we can go ahead we planned and then we had discussion regarding the Ineta sponsorship and we had discussion regarding the Speakers and the talk that are happening on that day.

we had discussion on the posters and T-shirts. how they shld be printed and what logos we need to keep on the T-shirt and how shld we plan with the banner and other things. the meeting lasted for about 4hrs and we had planned to meet next sunday i.e 3rd April as it wld be the crucial Sunday for DEVCON.

i was assigned the work to meet the sponsors and take their logo and get the money from them and other work like banner work and others.

We had started the Broad Band Dialer work and we are looking into the feasibility study of various dialers available in the market and come up with a dialer which has all the good features that are there in differant dialers and compatible with differant environments. Everyone of us are looking into differant dialers that are available in the market and i hope we can make the best dialer for the market.

I was quite busy today in doing my Part of the work for DEVCON

From regular work i went to home at 2:00Pm and then i went Arun and collected the Printouts of Devcon Sponsors and then i went and met Naukri Branch Manager Mr.Niraj at 4:00 pm whom i met earlier and he said they had recently sponsored an HRD Conference after i met him earlier and he said he will get back to his head office in Noida if i can send him a soft copy and he will speak to his noida counterpart and get back to me. Then i had called arun and infromed to send him the softcopy of the sponsorship document.

Then i went and met reliance Web Worlds incharge Mr.Madhav and he had introduced me to Marketing Head of AP operations in reliance and i had discussion with him all the things that are happening and he said to me that they cannot sponsor money directly and if they want any
posters and scrible pads and files and some other material he wld help in that regard and i had informed him that we already got them and he said i will think of it and asked me to call him tommorrow evening so that he wld be informing his decision.

Later i went to Times of india Office where i met Times jobs incharge Mr.Joe and his response is good and he said he will get back to me by tommorrow after speaking to his counter parts so that he wld be infroming his decsion

Then i met one of Real Estate i.e Vasudeva Relators an NRI Funded company Organization. I had given the the document and they are quite positive and they said they will sending the soft copy to their MD in US and after getting his approval they wld convey their decision. they asked more abt the T-shirts sposorship what all we give them. can u give us some 5 min time to tell abt ourselves and they also asked will u give T-Shirts to all attendes or not.

Then i was completely tired by that time due bright sun and got to take rest for some time and then i went to saifi's place and took rest for some time and then i actually dont know the banner guy and he had took me to the banner guy we met the guy and i asked him a differant banner sizes and he suggested that a size 9*31/2 wld be good as he said more smaller one than this will not fit devcon logo and it wld not be good appearence and he said if u order it will take
atleast 3 days.

i asked him the rates and he said 200/- per meter and that will be on white silk cloth. he said he wld give us the coloured logos and all. one more thing he had asked is he want a colour print of the logos and the banner with that size costs 600/-. the guy name is Mr.Afzal. I took the contact number from that guy and i was very tired and want to have some food to get myself activated.

Then i and Saifi went to Darmakaran Road to have panipuri and some chat then saifi asked for info abt the car he is planning then i had called my cousin and i took saifi to his office and then they both had discussions and then wew had ice cream at masala then that was somewhat good and it gained some strength to me.

then i thought of completing my assignment for VAL and then i had mailed the MUGH Core and sudhakar and arun what all had happened and then i cld make up more time. i immedeiately reached home and slept.

It is very hectic these days to go out in HOT summer.

this completes the work assigned to me.

if u guys can confirm me with the banner and if we have colour print
of the document then that work we can order for that guy and
regarding the sponsorships i am waiting for the final word from all
the guys that i had met.

Went to saifi's Place at 9:00 am and met narender, radhika and Jilani discussed with them for some time and saifi is guiding them on their project in Dialer and i was there for some time and then went to Core group meet and then went to Core Group Meet and then returned back to saifi's place and took my books prepared for the WAP session and then had some food at saifi's place and then i went to ST.Anns College and then gave sesion on WAP for abt 5hrs and then i was completely tired as i was not acquinted to speak for such a long time and that too continously and then had some discussion with Amritha, HOD of MCA at St.Anns for abt an hr on differant topics and then we had some Cool drinks and snacks and then i left to home and we had partied with nice Chicken Biryani and Chicken curry and watched Bewafaa.

MUGH Core Meet

Today i went to Microsoft User Group Core meet at 10:00 am at Minerva Coffee Shop and it started at 10:30 and the other members present are Arun frm Accenture, Saurabh frm Microsoft, Pratap frm Microsoft, Sudhakar frm Microsoft, Geetesh, Umesh, rajasekhar and few other guys. the main motive of the meet is to discuss abt the DEVCON planned for next month 10th at Chip and the discussion went very well and everybody had come up with their ideas to make devcon a grand success and it was quite good and interactive. that lasted upto 12:00 noon.

My Talk on WAP at St.Anns

I gave 5 hrs talk at St.Anns College for women on WAP for the students today. it is quite encouraging as the girls actually know a bit of basics of XML and i can go a head in good pace and that went very well and i felt happy that their HOD and students are seriously writing to what i am saying them. I feel that's good. They even asked me a talk on the technologies i actaully work, i said if possible i would definetly do that. it wld be more help if u can suggest our students with ur experiences and i had a nice talk with HOD of the MCA department and she was quite impressed with my talk. thanks for the support from students and staff for requesting me for the lecture.

Guest Lecture on WAP at St.Anns College

My Visit to " MY HYDERABAD MY DESTINY IT CONCLAVE "

It's great Pleasure for me to be present at " MY HYDERABAD MY DESTINY IT CONCLAVE " . I feel vrey sorry that i could not make up in the morning as i had my general work schedules and i had missed the Keynote address given by Mr.Ramalinga Raju, Chairman, Satyam Computer Services Ltd and then there is a Inaugral Function by Mr. Y. S.Rajsekhar Reddy, C.M. of A.P and then there is speech from Mr B.V.Naidu, Head of STPI and then Mr. Bob Hoekstra, MD, Philips Software. These were the sessions that had happened in the morning and i missed all of them and in particular i had missed a lot the session of Mr. Bob. i heard from friends that the Bob Session was good and it is some thing differant, getting more applauds from the audience.

I had attended the sessions after the Lunch and it started on with " Debate of the Day " which was anchored by Arnab Goswami, Vice president and editor of TV News division of Times of India and the Topic is " Cyberabad Vs Hyperabad ". In this the speakers were Mr.Subroto Bagchi, Coo, Mind Tree and Mr.Romi Malhotra, M.D, Dell International Services who were against Cyberabad and for Hyperabad and the Dr.Santanu paul, General manager, Virtusa ( India) and Mr. Ajay Sawhney, Secreatary were for Cyberabad and not Hyperabad. The discussion was good and what i felt is that there shld not be more emphasis on Bangalore and shld not degrade hyderabad. We need to accept the things like Bangalore is IT Capital of India from long time and might not be there for ever and is getting a huge competion from Hyderabad, which is growing in a rapid pace in IT and ITES Sectors and i do accpet that there certain facts that government is just saying but not implementing them.

I asked the principal secretary about the Jawahar Knowledege Centre which he had specified it in his debate and he had forwarded me to Mr.Subba Rao who is taking care of it. I just want to ask them that there is more hype in that Jawahar Knowledge Centre and the Girl students who are being trained were not told properly and they are only just given training on some open source technologies and help them create some web pages and once they were selceted they were given rigirious training on them and then they need to teach the same in differant colleges until they get palced in a company. if they are not placed in a company then they need to continue as a trainer in differant colleges. some of the girls had asked me abt the suggestion regarding this and i suggested them not go with it as they have good future in developement side. I later spoke to MR.Subba Rao, Chief Information Officer to Governement of A.P and i cld not get a concrete reply on this.

Then started the pannel discussion on " Human Resource and Infrastructure, and the pannelists are J.C.Mohanty, principal Secretary, IT, Govt. of AP and Mr. Srini Koppolu M.D,Microsoft, Ninad Karpe, M.D, C.A and MR.Srikant Sunderrajan, CTO, Cognizant. The discussion went were well and ideas of these people were too excellent and i liked the idea of Mr.Karpe's son who said intrestingly that we need to have free broad band connection for each home, that's too good and i liked the idea of it. The discussion went very well and it is too good.

Then we had some Tea Break where i had chat with Srini Koppolu, M.D, Microsoft on Microsoft plans in area of RFID which is concerned with my area of interest and in which we are doing a lot of research and Srini said we will get in touch regarding the RFID Research as Microsoft is planning to start research in RFID. This a good interaction with srini and we had discussed on lot of topics with him.

Then started with Pannel discussion by eminenet academics. The pannelists are Sabyasachi Mitra from ISB, Prof Sadagopan of IIIT Bangalore, Prof Govindarajulu of IIIT Hyderabad and G.Subba Rao, CIO Govt of AP and the principal of Oakridge International School. Some comments made by Prof from IIIT, Bangalore are good and to be taken into consideration and some part of Discussion went on reading the info from net it was not that much more than reading facts from net.

Then we have the guest of Honour for Valedictory Function MR. Narra Chandra Babu Naidu and he had given a good presentation of his findings in IT and his involvement in bringing IT to Hyderabad and we need be all thank full in this regard. as no body knows what IT is and he is the guy who brought IT in Hyderabad and he had created a place for Hyderabad in world map. His efforts had brought many fruits to AP that we are enjoying today and we should all remember his great and good efforts.

I had some discussions with MR.Naidu and with MR. Suren Poruri, Implementation Manager and Mr. Manoj Tiwari from euclid, and these guys are quite cool and were quite intresting with the work we are doing and are also quite impressed with the work we are doing and like to have an association with us. nice to meet such good people.

That's a great experience for me to meet all the industry Leads from differant companies and had nice discussion with them and we should all be thankful to Times of India for condcuting such a event in coordination with Virtusa and others.

Events such as like this should happen as they focus the growth of IT in Hyderabad.

I personally thank Times of India for sending me an Invitation for the Conclave and u need to go up with conclaves like this to bring focus of IT in Hyderabad and bring it International Level and more popular and attract more investment to Hyderabad and make Hyderabad as the IT Capital of INDIA.

All the community Members of MUGH went to roundtable conference with S.Somasegar corporate vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft Corporation. I went to Microsoft at around 5:30 pm and i thought i was late and by the time i was there the things were not yet started and i had nice chat with umesh, anirudh and sohail and others.

Lot of members from Developer Community and Student Community were present there and from MUGH Sudhakar, Arun, Satya, Anand krishnan, Anjana, rajsekhar, umesh and sasidhar kalagara and others were present. and from student community represented by Jankiram MSV ( Academic Evangelist) and Student Ambassadors like Anirudh, Sohail and Vikram were present and the meet with him was started at around 5:45 pm at Conference Room at the Lower Ground Floor (CFALG215), Microsoft India R&D Pvt. Ltd., Behind ISB Campus, Manikonta, Jagir Village, Gachibowli - 500046.

Mr.Somasegar a brief introduction of himself and what they are doing in Visual Studio Team and then sudhakar started with a brief intro to MUGH and its activities and abt the clarity of VS2005 and a bit confusion among devlopers and then Arun asked about smart clients and later a Guy from Microsoft asked abt VC++ and later jani representing student community had asked the some queries. then satya from Vortex had presented a business case study abt the mail he had received from ISB guys and then i had asked abt the migration options and interoperability options of Java1.1. and Visual Studio .NET and then there were lot of last last questions and then group had taken some snaps with mr somasegar and then we had good discussion and some snacks and then we left to our places around 7:00 pm.

I had attended the Microsoft User Group, Hyderabad (MUGH) at Minerva Coffee Shop at 10:30. i met umesh there at 9:30 and we had some snacks at Coffee day and we then went to Minerva and we cld not find anyone of the core members available there and we are just having some chating and Raghu from Brigade came and then Arun from accenture and then rajsekhar from Infotech and then Vikram came and we started the Formal Discussion abt DEVCON ( A confernce for Developers ). Then Sudhakar came and then we had discussion on the date and decided finally to conduct DEVECON on 2nd April as 1st April will be MUGH 2nd anniversary and we can conduct both of them together and go ahead with both of them together. Then geteesh, anjana and anand came and we had discussion on sponsorships and other things and finally we departed at 12:30.
